ACME's "LET'S HIT THIS FOR THE HOLIDAYS" LIST

ACME's "LET'S HIT THIS FOR THE HOLIDAYS" LIST
(your guide to a Cool Yule)

Naughty or nice, there are a ton of things you've got to hit up in the 312 this holiday season. The hard part is deciding which ones to squeeze into your hectic schedule! No worries, we've compiled a list of our favorites - a mashup of classics and newbies, all with a distinctively festive edge.

Christkindlmarket
So here's a classic . . . from top to bottom, this thing is Christmas, with a decidedly German flair. The food is pretty awesome too . . . and the warm spiced wine? Yes please! See for yourself but avoid the crowds and get there on a weekday if you can! Now through Dec 24 (6p-7p).

Zoolights (at Lincoln Park Zoo)
Who doesn't love animals, and really nifty holiday lights? If you haven't done it, you should - and it's not just for kids! You'll definitely score points with your significant other by suggesting a stroll through this twinkly utopia. Now through Jan 5.

(side bar): Brewlights is Dec 12. And yup, it's exactly as it sounds! Cheers!

Caroling Around Cloud Gate
Every Friday, find your favorite holiday jam at the "Bean", led by a different choir each week, this festive singalong will inspire even the greenest of grinches. And it's totally gram-worthy!
Nov 29 - Dec 20.

One of A Kind Show
Shoppers on your mark . . .  and get to the One of a Kind Show. Why do we like this so much? Because the stuff is exactly as the title states, One of a Kind. Artwork, jewelry, apparel . . . all made by artisans with an artful flair. Dec 5 - Dec 8.

36th Annual Music Box Holiday Sing-a-Long
If this isn't already a holiday tradition, you might want to add it to the repertoire. If you love classic Holiday flicks, it's a seriously cool way to usher in the holiday spirit and at one of Chicago's most beloved landmarks, The Music Box Theatre. Catch a show Dec 12 - Dec 24.

Eve of the Eve
If you love the idea of a festive night out to ring in the New Year, but don't want to be caught up in it, check out Eve of the Eve at Union Station. It takes place December 30 and has all the cool stuff of New Year's Eve -  like, cocktails, food, live music and dancing, but without all the chaos that comes with it. Plus it's for a good cause! Dec 30.

And these are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg! You can ice skate at Millennium Park, check out the wreathed lions at the Art Institute, take a stroll down the Mag Mile in all of its blinged out holiday wonder, or even take a holiday lights tour via helicopter! . . . the world is your oyster, or in this case, your snow globe. Check out more on our site. Happy Holidays!
