ACME's TOP FIVE WAYS TO HOLIDAY IN CHICAGO

If you listen closely, you can hear a subtle jingle in the not so far off distance . . . and that would be the sound of the holidays crashing right into the 312! It's no secret that there's a ton of things to do in Chicago for the holidays. We've got Zoo Lights, not one, but two Christkindle markets, the lights on the mag mile, and tons more, but we want to share with you ACME's top five things to do that are lesser known, more singular, and are  memory-making and TikTok worthy all at the same time. So, time to bundle up and check ‘em below:

DRIVE IN MOVIES
If you're driving to the city, you might as well let your car in on the action and avoid a few hours of super expensive parking by taking in a DRIVE-IN HOLIDAY MOVIE. Throw it back to the old days and enjoy a holiday film in the comfort of your own heated seats. ChiTown Movies is playing a ton of fun Christmas classics like Home Alone, Polar Express, Plains, Trains, and Automobiles, Elf, and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation . . . Let's say it together, "Oh Clark" . . . They'll even deliver movie food (aka, popcorn), and lots more right to your car. Hit the link to find movie times and buy tickets.

COLD STEEL ON ICE
Unlike any rink you've skated, the Ice Skating Ribbon at Maggie Daley Park is a quarter mile ribbon of ice that lets you glide through twists and turns, ups and downs through Grant Park with the beaming city skyline serving as your backdrop. The ribbon is one of those urban experiences that you'll talk about long after your final slug of hot chocolate. Click tickets for reservations. And yes, you can rent skates at the location.

SEASONAL ART
The holidays are the perfect time to take in this one-of-a-kind art installation.  Art on the Mart, will be featuring the Joffrey Ballet's The Nutcracker, where images/video from the actual stage production are projected on the Mart. It's a seriously cool thing to experience. While you're over there, take a stroll down the Riverwalk for some amazing city views.

ALL ABOARD!
It's the time of year that the CTA decks out a few of its trains in holiday bling to bring you the CTA Holiday Train.  – we're talking the whole nine yards, inside and out. Whether you take a ride on the train, or glance up and see it passing overhead, have your iphone ready for some fun snaps. This is truly off the rails – Check out the schedule so you don't miss out!

SING-A-LONG
I know, we're talking a lot about movies here, but this one has been a Chicago Tradition for nearly 40 years, and it involves singing!  The 38th Annual Music Box Christmas Sing-a-Long Double Feature is really a Chicago holiday MUST-DO. Why? Because it's cool and different and it takes place at one of the city's most iconic theatres, The Music Box Theatre. This year's double feature is White Christmas, and It's a Wonderful Life. And indeed it is!

Hopefully these ideas will put some jolly in your holly this season because to be quite clear, there's nothing quite like Chicago for the Holidays. Merry, Merry ya'll.
