Summer Business Travel

COME FOR BUSINESS, STAY FOR PLEASURE
ACME'S GUIDE TO CHICAGO WEEKNIGHT EXPERIENCES

Even though most of the summer festivals fall on the weekends in summertime, you can still have an amazing Chicago Summer Experience if you're traveling here on business during the week! Yup! It's time to break away from that snoozy sales meeting and venture out! If you know what to do, you can actually make a Tuesday FEEL like a Friday! Love concerts? We've partnered with Schubas + Lincoln Hall to bring you ACME's Summer of Rock Promotion - which gets you seats to some of the best sets in town! That's a pretty cool diversion from work, right? We also offer a specially curated Art tour . . . which means you are driven around to see some of the coolest graffiti in the city!

Also, check out some of our favorite options below for turning your business trip into a pleasure trip and experience some local weeknight (and day) fun!

MONDAY

Every Monday and Thursday, enjoy FREE concerts at the Millennium Park Summer Music Series showcasing a broad spectrum of "genre-defying" musicians. Totally free, totally cool. Totally instagrammable! Grab a colleague and dig some free tunes with the locals. Now - Aug. 13

TUESDAY

Fancy yourself a film buff, and an outdoors lover at the same time? Then the Millennium Park Summer Film Series is for you! Every Tuesday night, featuring blockbuster and critically acclaimed films of multiple genres. (July - August)

WEDNESDAY

You don't need to be here on America's Birthday to enjoy a stellar fireworks display. From Memorial Day through Labor day, the city features a Fireworks display at Navy Pier every Wednesday night at 9:30. It's the perfect way to cap off the night after that major presentation!

The Grant Park Music festival features FREE concerts by the Grant Park Orchestra - It's the only FREE summer-long, outdoor classical music festival of its kind! Grab a blanket from your hotel, and check out the tunes!

THURSDAY

If you missed it Monday night, check out the FREE concerts at the Millennium Park Summer Music Series showcasing a broad spectrum of "genre-defying" musicians. Now - Aug. 13

Monday - Friday

The Manet and Modern Beauty exhibit comes to the Art Institute and promises to be one of the best exhibitions of the summer! Did you know Manet once challenged a critic to a duel? Feisty dude for an impressionist! Sneak over on your lunch break and get some culture. If you want to check out some FREE art, Check out Art on the Mart . . . at sundown. It's a super cool digital art show. Stand across the river and get an eyeful! (And it's 7 nights a week through September).

Chicago has not one, but TWO teams that play America's favorite sport - And with, like a thousand games each season, you're sure to catch at least one of them in town! Check out the Chicago Cubs or the White Sox . . . Either way, you'll find the best dogs in town and lots of cold beer!

Feeling creatively stuck? Mentally drained? Then get out of your own way and open yourself to a mind-blowing experience. Check out the Wndr Museum! They say that it "reimagines the traditional museum experience, and invites you to tap into the curiosity and playfulness that lives within and around all of us". And we say, YUP, it does! Seriously, a very cool thing to experience, and it's only here in Chicago!

Perhaps a laid back mental cleanse is what you seek? Take off your shoes and socks and run them through the warm sands of Oak Street Beach. If only for an hour, it's a great way to "leave the city behind you" (literally), and enjoy a little R&R and some of the most beautiful views of Chicago.

Chicago has the best live theatre outside of NYC. Truly! And the only night they're dark is Monday! This summer features some blockbusters like Hamilton, Les Miz, Come From Away and a ton more! Check out Broadwayinchicago.com

Other things we might suggest to break up the business trip? Check out the Chicago Riverwalk (lots of cocktails and eats to be found). Grab a Divvy and cycle around the city. Get up top at one of the several rooftop bars and lounges for the best views and cocktails! Take a free guided walking tour of Chicago. Check out an Architectural Boat Tour . . .

I think you get our point . . . any way you look at it, the 312 has it going on seven nights a week. Do you?
